I just got back from an amazing stay at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens in early November 2024, and wow, what a great experience!
As soon as we arrived (I was with my oldest, our 20-year-old daughter), we were blown away by the gorgeous location, sea-view everywhere, and amazing service. Let me give you a quick peek into our time there!
Two buildings: Arion & Nafsika
The resort has two main buildings: Arion and Nafsika.
Arion has an adults-only pool, a luxurious spa, and a year-round indoor pool. Nafsika, the resort’s lively hub, features the Kids for All Seasons club, several restaurants, the Avra Bar, and an outdoor family pool—ideal for families! Some Nafsika suites even come with private pools.
The two buildings are just a short walk from each other.
Plus, you can also stay in one of the 60+ bungalows near the Arion building.
Dining Delights: Helios Margarita & Mercato Dinners
I had to try the signature “Helios Margarita” at the hotel’s Helios bar by the family pool—delicious! For dinner, we headed to Mercato, where the food was incredible. Fresh flavors, perfect ambiance, and just the right mix of relaxed and refined.
Later, we stopped by Avra Bar, which has such a lively, vibrant vibe. It’s the ideal spot to kick back with a drink and take in the scene.
The hotel also features the Michelin-starred Pelagos and the Greek-inspired Taverna 37. Plus, within the resort grounds, you’ll find Beefbar and Matsuhisa Athens, offering the world-famous Nobu cuisine.

What really stood out during my stay was the service. The staff was super attentive and always went the extra mile. Plus, the iPad chat function in the room made everything a breeze. Whether I had a quick question about sunscreen or needed help arranging a taxi, it was all just a few taps away.
Pilates Reformer: Challenging but Energizing
I tried a Pilates Reformer session with a personal trainer for the first time, and it was intense—but I walked away feeling energized and accomplished. The trainer was amazing, and guided me through each move!
Astir Marina
We also took a very quick three-minute buggy ride over to the newly built Astir Marina. This upscale spot is filled with luxury yachts and high-end shops such as Gucci and Louis Vuitton.
The Perfect Escape from the Cold
Leaving behind the chilly Netherlands for sunny Greece was exactly what we needed! The year-round open Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens is ideal for anyone craving a warm escape from colder months. Plus, it’s just 30 minutes from Athens and the airport—super convenient for a quick, relaxing getaway.
Final Thoughts
I absolutely loved my stay at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens. With its luxury, incredible service, and stunning surroundings, it’s the perfect spot to experience the best of Greece. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, enjoying cocktails, or dining at one of the many restaurants, every moment feels special. Highly recommended!
If you’re hoping to visit the Acropolis without the heat and crowds, winter is ideal. The cooler months make for a quieter, more comfortable experience at this iconic site.
Tip: Book well in advance, especially if you’re traveling with kids. In 2024, October and the summer months were fully booked, so plan early to secure your stay at this amazing resort!
